The Sutherland Shire Masters FC meets on Sunday mornings during the summer off-season for social (non-competitive) play and skills maintenance. The primary objects of the Club, as listed in our Constitution, are "to encourage and develop football and to foster good citizenship and sportsmanship by its members". We normally have around 20 to 30 players each week. Members of the Club are generally over 40 years of age and we have some over 60 who can still put many a younger player to shame.
Most of our members are involved in the winter season of the local
Sutherland Shire Football Association (SSFA) as players, club officials or referees (or sometimes all three!).
The map shows where we play - Coachwood Oval. We arrive at 8:00 for an 8:15 start, going to about 10:00. Bring both white and blue shirts. After the play, a barbecue breakfast is available.
The season culminates in a Gala Day, where a number of teams compete in a one-day competition.
Membership of the Club for most players is currently $145 per season, in two parts. Club membership fees are $80 and cover Club costs such as equipment and the barbecue breakfast. Secondly, in order to gain insurance cover, the Club is registered with
Menai Summer Soccer under the jurisdiction of the SSFA, although we are not directly participating in their competitions. This registration fee is $65 in addition to the Club membership fees. Altogether, these fees provide for playing time over about 25 weeks.
Due to insurance requirements, you must be registered in order to play. This should be done via the
Play Football Online Registration web site.
